I don’t see why I should be obligated to tell someone congratulations and act happy whenever someone gets pregnant. “Oh congratulations, you had sex and now you have another human being growing inside of you. You’ve accomplished so much.” Seriously, everyone is around me is fucking breeding. I mean, I’m not saying you shouldn’t be happy about having a child, but don’t expect me to be happy about it too. In reality I only feign happiness because it’s what is expected of me. I think I’m going to start expressing how I actually feel when someone breeds.
I’ll be happy that you’re happy and I care about you. However, I don’t need to give my blessing just because it’s a social obligation.
One of my English teachers put it best, “Please don’t let your biggest accomplishment be having children.”
Having children in my opinion is a cop out. I’m pretty poor and so is pretty much everyone else that I know. Because of this I do know a lot of welfare mothers. So many of them neglect their children, get money from the state, spend said money on the state on drugs, and don’t know what the fuck they’re doing because they weren’t mentally or financially ready to start breeding in the first place. Despite having a child. My tax money is paying for them to not have to work and still allow them to support a drug habit. I hate to generalize and put a stereotype on teenage mothers, but this is truly what I have observed. It may just be my area that I live in.
A girl I went to high school with and was a pretty good friend has 3 children now. She’s barely 21. That’s not an unusual case for many of the girls I went to high school with. I’m not saying that a teenager can’t have a kid and be able to raise it right, it is possible, but the majority don’t know a damn thing.
I just think the attitude needs to change in this country. Women are encouraged to have children and not build an independent life for themselves first.

I love you! The ability to breed is not necessarily praiseworthy. Also after I got married I don’t know how many people I had to explain to that I wasn’t pregnant/wasn’t planning on becoming pregnant in the immediate future…
